As we age, the forehead area may sag producing heaviness on the upper eyelids.  Though Botox can improve the lines and creases of a forehead, it cannot produce elevation of the brow.

brow lift (also called a forehead lift) removes wrinkles on the forehead and in between the eyes. It also elevates drooping eyebrows for a more appealing appearance.  As we age, the forehead area may sag producing heaviness on the upper eyelids.

Face and Body Plastic Surgery is different.

Over the years we’ve watched fad treatments and cosmetic crazes come and go. But when the fads have failed, the crazes died out, and people just want something that works…they turn to us.

Your Brow Lift Consultation

During your consultation, Dr. Izquierdo will discuss all your options based on his examination. Dr. Izquierdo’s goal is to take away the “mean” appearance due to lessened visualization of the eyes.

Your Brow Lift Procedure

Brow lift surgery uses incisions in the hair-bearing scalp area to remove the forehead and frowning wrinkles as well as positioning the eyebrows at a more pleasing level.  Aging, genes, and the cumulative effects of the sun produce changes in the forehead contour and texture.  At times, the “weight” of  the skin produces an unflattering heaviness of the brows.   This surgical procedure will soften the wrinkle lines of the forehead giving a fresher and smoother contour.

A brow lift takes one to two hours to perform in an ambulatory surgery center under general anesthesia or IV sedation as an outpatient.   Depending on the technique,  it can be done under IV sedation or general anesthesia.

Brow Lift Recovery

Your forehead and eyes will swell and possibly bruise.  It will typically take five to ten days for you to feel comfortable being in public for a small amount of time.  Scars are typically in the hair-bearing area and not visible.  They will be red or pink for several months following surgery but fade by 6-12 months. All attempts are made to minimize scarring.

Although unusual, risks may include blood clots, infection and bleeding.

A brow lift is often used along with an blepharoplasty, because some patients have low eyebrow position that is accompanied with loose skin of the upper eyelid and deep wrinkles in the forehead.
